Ingredients: (Serves 6)
| 5tbsp olive oil 1 brown onion, chopped 1 clove garlic, crushed 3 rashers of bacon, chopped 1 kg stewing beef cubed 1/2 c. flour Half bottle Pioneer's Pinot Noir |
375 ml. beef broth 1 tsp rosemary 1 tsp oregano 2 bay leaves Salt & pepper to taste 250 gms. mushrooms 200 gms green beans |
Directions:

Heat oil in large dutch oven and
add onion, garlic and bacon. Cook stirring occasionally until
onion is clear. Dust beef in flour and sear. When
beef is browned add Pioneer's Pinot Noir and beef broth and bring to a
boil. Lower heat and add rosemary, oregano, bay leaves and
salt and pepper. Simmer all day if you can then at the end
add mushrooms and green beans. Cook until the beans are
tender and the sauce is reduced to the desired consistency.
Serve with pasta spirals, fettucine, baby potatoes or rice. |
